This fund was established to honor the life of Dr. 阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头, associate professor emeritus of ethnic studies and former associate dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院 at 州立鲍灵格林大学.  Dr. 石头’s outstanding tenure at 州立鲍灵格林大学 established him as an academic visionary, humanitarian and dedicated university citizen committed to attaining excellence and equity in graduate education.  本基金表彰. 石头’s successes and all the lives he’s touched in nearly a quarter of a century.  Dr. 石头 has united many people in the pursuit of intellectual growth and excellence at BGSU.

Dr. 石头 made significant contributions to many programs and initiatives at BGSU.  Among those programs and initiatives are the Patricia Roberts Harris Fellowship Program, 民族博天堂官方网站系, the cultural diversity requirement for undergraduates, the University’s recruitment efforts of the best and brightest graduate students, 还有很多其他的.

Those who are eligible to receive the 阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头 Graduate Student Development fund will demonstrate:

2. An extra-ordinary level of artistic achievement (including musical creations);
3. Outstanding leadership in the academic community;
4. Exceptional writing skills (determined by an essay, 博天堂官方网站论文, 论文, or dissertation project); and
5. 教师 commitment and support (determined by two letters of recommendation from faculty persons).

阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头 Graduate Student Development Fund will support the following areas:

I.   博天堂官方网站生学院

阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头 Graduate Student Development Fund should be used for the support of students who meet the following criteria:

1. Recipients must be graduate students who have been involved with multicultural initiatives through Multicultural Initiatives for Graduate Student Success (MIGSS) or any office within the Division of 多样性 and 归属感 and enrolled at BGSU for at least one semester.
2. 收件人必须是.S. citizens or immigrants with permanent residence status.
3. Recipients must be in good academic standing and be registered as full-time students.

II.  International Programs and Partnerships

阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头 Graduate Student Development Fund should be used for the support of students who meet the following criteria:

1. Recipients must be international graduate students who have been enrolled at BGSU for at least one semester.
2. Recipients must be in good academic standing and be registered as full-time students.

The Executive Director of International Programs and Partnerships will recommend the names of three award nominees to the Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院. The Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院 will select the award recipient.

3.  音乐艺术学院

阿威妮弗蕾德. 石头 Graduate Student Development Fund should be used for the support of students who meet the following criteria:

1. Recipients are expanding their musical training through their participation in events such as: auditions, 国内外的博天堂官方网站, 等.
2. Recipients must be in good academic standing and be registered as full-time students

The Dean of the 音乐艺术学院 in conjunction with the Pro Musica Board will submit thenames of three award nominees to the Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院. The Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院 will select the award recipient.

If support from this fund is to cover other educational expenses or expenses associated with unexpected events, a check will be issued to the student in the amount determined by either the 博天堂官方网站生学院 or the Center for International Programs.

The Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院 is the administrator of this award and will make the final determination of the recipients from the list of nominees.

时间轴:

1月16日, 2024: The Dean of the 博天堂官方网站生学院 will issue calls for nominations from 访问办公室, 多样性和包容性项目/MIGSS, International Programs and Partnerships (IPP) and the 音乐艺术学院 (CMA).

February 17, 2024: Deadline for nominations.

2月24日, 2024: Student nominees are notified of their nomination and asked to provide two (2) letters of recommendation from faculty on their behalf.

March 15, 2024: Deadline for two (2) letters of recommendation. 教师 recommenders should submit them as an email attachment to:
